About the program
Certificate III in Process Manufacturing, this qualification provides the competencies required by advanced production workers who use a range of equipment and provide support functions directly related to producing products. They would undertake more advanced roles than workers with a Certificate II in Process Manufacturing, working in accordance with operating procedures and applying knowledge to anticipate problems and solve a range of foreseen and unforeseen problems.

This qualification has been developed for use across the three process manufacturing sectors:

  • chemical, hydrocarbons and oil refining
  • plastics, rubber and cablemaking
  • manufactured mineral products.

This qualification applies to production workers providing vital support roles directly related to producing products. The production worker would apply a breadth and depth of knowledge to a defined range of problems by applying known solutions to a limited range of predictable problems.

Entry Requirements
There are no entry requirements listed in the training package for this qualification. It is preferred that the students have obtained a minimum of a School Certificate or equivalent. Students are required to; be at least 16 years of age (students under 18 years of age will need a parent or guardian to approve their enrolment).

Pathways Information
After achieving the Certificate III in Process Manufacturing, candidates may undertake;

  • MSM40116 Certificate IV in Process Manufacturing

Training delivery
This course can be conducted online, blended, work based or in the classroom. Training is delivered through our Registered Training Organisation: Gateway Training Academy RTO ID 32305.

Course Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive a:

  • Nationally recognised Certificate & Transcript or
  • Statement of Attainment (if found competent in at least 1 Unit of Competency)

To successfully complete this qualification, you require 21 units of competence. These 12 units are comprised of 4 core unit which is compulsory and 17 elective units.
